Carpets

We stock excellent brands such as Brintons, Westex, Ulster, Penthouse and Kersaint Cobb.

There are many benefits to investing in a wool carpet, and all of our brands use either 100% wool or a wool mix, meaning your carpet will be much more eco-friendly and sustainable than a synthetic one. As well as providing insulation for your home and a styish look, the bouncy fibres of the wool also stand up well against high foot traffic and heavy furniture, so you're guaranteed an investment that will stand the test of time.

Wood

Tedd Todd wood flooring has the wow factor, if you are looking for a unique natural floor that brings warmth to a room, wood flooring will provide this for you. We provide the specialist fitting that is required to ensure that room is left for the wood to expand and contract under normal atmospheric conditions.

Laminate

Karndean laminate flooring is an alternative to wood or ceramic tiling, it has the visual impact without the impracticalities. Although the initial cost may be high it can be more cost effective and easier to maintain over its installation life. It is ideal in all areas of the house and is particularly effective in wet areas as it is easy to mop and dry. Our specialist fitter will install your flooring in accordance to Karndeans’ guidelines to ensure you receive Karndeans’ Lifetime Guarantee.

Vinyl

There are many design options to choose from with vinyls, such as, modern geometrics, plain textures as well as wood or stone looks. Vinyl is a great solution for kitchens, bathrooms and utility areas, as it is easily maintained in wet areas and is available in a scale of durabilities as well as being cost effective compared to laminate.

Measuring and Fitting

We offer a free, no obligation, measuring service conducted by Keith. Keith can also bring samples and offer any advice and pricing estimates on site.

Our fitters are excellent and pride themselves on the work they do. Our fitter Brian installs all of our carpets and wood flooring. David is our specialist Karndean fitter, who fits in accordance to karndeans guidelines to ensure you receive the Karndeans lifetime Guarantee. Alternatively we do offer our products as supply only, if you have your own fitter or feel comfortable fitting them yourself.

Once fitted, if you have any problems with your flooring in the future, we are always on the other end of the phone to help with any problems you may have and we endeavour to be as helpful as possible.

Advice

In most instances it will be a straightforward decision when choosing which floor covering you might prefer. The first decision is usually based on practicalities - You may prefer a hard, serviceable floor in a kitchen or a wool carpet in your living room. The next choices involve the style, colour, texture and cost of your floorcovering.

It is also worth considering how much foot traffic the flooring will need to withstand and therefore how durable the flooring should be.

How much will it cost?

This is a good question to ask on our first meeting, so we can establish what range of flooring to look at to fit your budget. The final selection is usually a compromise on cost and durability.

Do I pay the fitter?

No, all of your dealings are directly with Milners of Leyburn, in order to make the process as simple and convenient as we can.

How good are your fitters?

We understand that it’s not always easy having strangers come into your home to carry out work. Milners work on a high level of repeat business and recommendation due to the good nature and helpfulness of our fitters. Our fitters are excellent and pride themselves on the work they do. Our fitter Brian fits all of our carpets and Kersaint Cobb wood flooring. David is a specialist fitter for the Karndean, who fits in accordance to Karndean's guidelines to ensure you receive Karndean's lifetime Guarantee.

What about gripper and door bars?

We do not charge for these as extras as they are covered in the carpet costs displayed.

What about Underlay?

A good underlay will help your carpet last longer and in some instances we will recommend a better quality underlay and a less expensive carpet as the combination may be longer lasting.

When can you install it?

If the carpet is in stock we can fit usually within 2-4 weeks from receipt of order.
