Switch Up Your Paint Colours

There are lots of ways that you can utilise Little Greene paint in your decor to complement the summer season. One of which is to think of confident, bright colours such as ‘Light Gold’ or ‘Canton’. Warm and sunshiny yellows like Light Gold convey the ultimate essence of summer, while striking, vibrant hues like Canton work brilliantly on kitchen cabinetry or woodwork, adding a pop of colour to both indoor and outdoor spaces.

For a slightly more muted approach, earthy tones can help to create an inviting and harmonious room while reflecting the beauty of our outdoor surroundings. Little Greene’s ‘Green Stone’ produces an airy and calming space while mimicking the Earth’s natural hues; meanwhile ‘Tuscan Red’ acts as a chalky yet deep terracotta, whose earthy tones can be brought out by pairing it with rustic elements like stone-washed walls or wooden beams. 

Bring The Outdoors In

As the summer months start rolling in, it is completely understandable that us Brits want to make the most of getting outside in the sun. Here’s a couple of ways that you can ‘bring the outdoors in’, so that you can continue to soak up that unique, harmonious feeling of being out in nature even after you step back inside your house!

When it comes to this design technique, you can go one of two ways. Firstly, think of what you can see when you look out of your window and envision your room being an expansion of that scenery. For example, if you live in the middle of a city with other buildings as your view, you could actually embrace the ‘concrete jungle’ feel by installing a stone/stone-look floor and adding concrete plant pots as decorations. Finishing the room with lush green plants will add balance and create a clean, contemporary interior that feels at one with the outdoor space surrounding it.

Alternatively, construct your very own oasis by mirroring your favourite outdoor scenery within your room, whether that’s the fauna and foliage of a forest or the nautical feel of the seaside! Use floral fabrics (such as iLiv’s Rewilding) within your soft furnishings, and botanical wallpapers (like Voyage Maison’s Elowen) to help create a tranquil space inspired by nature’s greenery, or introduce light wooden floors/sisal carpets and a bright yellow, orange, blue and white colour scheme to give your room a beachy vibe. 

Take Advantage Of Different Window Treatments
